Purpose of Item: A Resolution authorizing the City Manager after finding competitive negotiation methods are not practicable or advantageous and pursuant to section 18-86(a)(3)(c) of the Code of the City; to execute an agreement, in substantially the attached form, with Citizens for a Better South Florida., in the amount of $21,380 for support programs associated with environmental clean-up, education, native plant reforestation and other such activities as part of the Community Stewardship grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection, in the amount of $37,440. Funding is allocated and appropriated from Special Revenue Account 110161.580286. i Background Information: The Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that the City of Miami enter into an agreement with Citizens for a Better South Florida., a Florida Not -for -Profit corporation that will be providing services for the environmental clean-up and restoration efforts at Virginia Key Park as part of a state matching grant administered by NOAA federal funds that the Department of Parks and Recreation received from the Community Stewardship program. Of the $37,440 state grant award, Citizens for a Better South Florida will require $21, 380 for the initial year for the services they will be providing.
