A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED:"VIRGINIA KEY
COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM" AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ITS OPERATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $74,880, CONSISTING OF A GRANT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,440,
FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
("DEP"), ADMINISTERING FEDERAL FUNDS FROM THE NATIONAL OCEANIC
AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION COOPERATIVE AWARD COASTAL
ZONE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (DEP NO. CZ610), WITH A LOCAL MATCH
PROVIDED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,440, FOR
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT OF THE ONGOING COASTAL ECOSYSTEM
ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION EFFORTS AT VIRGINIA KEY; ALLOCATING
SAID REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS
AND RECREATION BUDGET ACCOUNT NO. 001000.580302; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AND TO EXECUTE A GRANT
AGREEMENT WITH DEP, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, AND TO
PROVIDE ALL OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT
ACCEPTANCE OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Department of Parks and Recreation has requested funding
from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP") to provide administrative support to
the ongoing environmental restoration of Virginia Key; and
WHEREAS, the City was nominated by the DEP for funding pending approval from the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ("NOAA"); and
WHEREAS, the City was awarded a grant by NOAA to be administered by DEP in the amount of a
$37,440 award, with a cash match in the amount of $37,440 to provided by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City must execute a Grant. Agreement ("Agreement"), to accept said grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated
as described herein:

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept said grant and to execute an Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, with the DEP, and to provide all other necessary documents in order to
implement acceptance of and compliance with said grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
