At its March 14, 2024, meeting, the City Commission adopted the above referenced
agenda item, RE.1 1, adopting a "Leave No Trace" policy for all City of Miami owned waterfront parks
and directing the City Manager to take any and all actions necessary to implement said policy. The item
inadvertently published with an incorrect description of the effective date.
The Legislation has been corrected and incremented to Revision A.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ADOPTING THE "LEAVE NO TRACE" POLICY, ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "A," FOR CITY OF MIAMI OWNED
WATERFRONT PARKS; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY
AND ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Damian Pardo, Commissioner Manolo Reyes,
Commissioner Christine King
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") recognizes the importance of preserving the
natural beauty and environmental integrity of its City of Miami owned islands, lands, and
facilities along Biscayne Bay; and
WHEREAS, the City is committed to promoting responsible and sustainable use of these
natural resources; and
WHEREAS, implementing a "Leave No Trace" policy for these areas is essential to
achieve the goals of preservation and responsible stewardship; and
WHEREAS, at its November 16, 2023 meeting, the City Commission adopted Resolution
No. R-23-0516, directing the City Manager to develop a comprehensive "Leave No Trace"
policy, which includes guidelines, regulations, and educational programs to promote responsible
use, conservation, and minimal impact on the environment for visitors and users of these areas;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed "Leave No Trace" policy, attached and incorporated as Exhibit
"A," is hereby submitted to the City Commission for consideration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby adopts the "Leave No Trace" policy, attached
and incorporated as Exhibit "A," for all City -owned waterfront parks.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to take any and all actions necessary to
implement this Resolution.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
