HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fl.us File Number: 06-00225 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE AGREEMENT FOR FUELING CITY OF MIAMI POLICE VEHICLES, UNDER AN EXISTING LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING DATED JULY 13, 1994, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 04-0614, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 23, 2004, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $400,000, INCREASING THE AGREEMENT FROM $2,046,500 TO $2,446,500; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICES GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.290301.6.715, FOR SAID INCREASE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0614, adopted September 23, 2004, the City of Miami ("City") agreed to the terms and conditions of a Letter of Understanding dated July 13, 1994 for the fueling and emissions testing of City vehicles for an initial period of one-year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one-year periods; and WHEREAS, the Department of Police has a need to increase the Agreement amount for the fueling of police vehicles; and WHEREAS, the Department of Police requires said increase due to rising fuel cost; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend increasing the Agreement, in the amount of $400,000 from $2,046,500 to $2,446,500 annually, and amending Resolution No. 04-0614, to reflect said increase; and WHEREAS, funds for said increase are available from the Department of Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290301.6.715; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORI DA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. An increase in the Agreement for fueling City police vehicles, under an existing Letter of Understanding dated July 13, 1994, between the City and Miami -Dade County, for the Department of Police, pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0614, adopted September 23, 2004, in an annual amount not to exceed $400,000, increasing the Agreement from $2,046,500 to $2,446,500, is authorized. Section 3. Resolution No. 04-0614, adopted September 23, 2004, is amended in the following particulars;{1} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 2/22/1006 File Number: 06-00225 "Resolution No. 04-0614 Section 1. The use of Miami -Dade County fueling facilities, for fueling City of Miami vehicles, for the Department of Police ("Police"), in an amount not to exceed $2 O46;500 2,446,500, and for General Services Administration ("GSA") in an amount not to exceed $35,000, on an as -needed contract basis, under the same established contractual terms and conditions agreed to in the Letter of Understanding, dated July 13, 1994 subject to further extensions or replacement contracts by Miami Dade County, is authorized, with funds allocated in the amount not to exceed $2,0'16,500 $2,446,500, for Fiscal Year 2004-2005, from the General Operating Budget of Police and an amount not to exceed $35,000, for Fiscal Year 2004-2005, from the General Operating Budget of the GSA, with future Fiscal Year funding subject only to budgetary approval. Section 4. Funds, in an annual amount not to exceed $400,000, for said increase, are allocated from the Department of Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290301.6.715. Section 5.
