HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-06-0158City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-06-0158 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-00145 Final Action Date: 3/9/2006 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS FUNDS, AS SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $100,000; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CARRIE P. MEEK FOUNDATION, INC., TO PROVIDE HOMEBUYER COUNSELING FOR DISTRICT FIVE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the Administration is requesting the transfer of Home Investment Partnerships ('THOME") funds, in the amount of $100,000, to The Carrie P. Meek Foundation, Inc., to provide homebuyer counseling for District 5; and WHEREAS, said agency has extensive experience working with stakeholders within District 5 and are better suited to provide homebuyer counseling within the area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of Home funds, as specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, in the total amount of $100,000 and the allocation of said funds to The Carrie P. Meek Foundation, Inc., to provide homebuyer counseling for District 5, is authorized. Section 3. purpose. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
