Re: Out -of -School Parks Grant from Children's Trust
Through City of Miami, Parks & Recreation Department
Scope of Services: This agreement is entered between The Miami -Dade Family
Learning Partnership and The City of Miami Department of Parks and Recreation for
the purpose of securing Literacy Programming and Educational Program Management
at (5) City of Miami Park locations:

The Miami -Dade Family Learning Partnership will:
• Assign staff to manage this contract who are qualified to work
with children and youth and hold a minimum of a Master's Degree in Education
with State Certification. Program management will include designing, monitoring
and evaluating related curriculum using the NSACA standards for quality of
School -Aged Care; working with other collaborative partners to develop themes
and incorporate multi -sensory learning activities designed to augment the
academic/social needs of the students participating in the Heart of Our Park
Programs funded by the Children's Trust.
• The Miami -Dade Family Learning Partnership will coordinate (8) hours of
weekly instruction at each of the participating sites.
• Provide a Curriculum Specialist/Reading Is Fundamental Director to organize
and conduct ten literacy events; (2) at each of the (5) sites, These include
motivational activities designed to promote literacy/reading strategies.
Additionally, each child will receive a new developmentally -age appropriate book
to build home libraries.
• Screen and recommend certified teachers to conduct reading and literacy
activities, and supervise reading personnel. The Miaml-Dade Family Learning
Partnership will provide teachers with professional development opportunities and
select/purchase literacy related materials in accordance with the Florida Sunshine
State Standards and the Competency Based Curriculum. The Family Learning
Partnership will use a formal observation tool to monitor the instructional
program delivery and work in collaboration with the City of Miami to assess
overall employee performance.
