A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE
THE FINDINGS OF THE QUALIFICATION COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO REQUEST
FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 04-05-132, THAT THE PROPOSER MOST QUALIFIED
TO PROVIDE CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE MAYOR'S MENTORING
INITIATIVE IS AIMEE MIR; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
AND EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"), IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH AIMEE MIR FOR A ONE-YEAR
PERIOD, WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR FOUR (4) ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR
PERIODS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF QUALIFIED FIRMS OR
INDIVIDUALS TO THE CONTRACT WHEN DEEMED IN THE CITY OF MIAMI'S
BEST INTEREST; ALLOCATING FUNDS, IN AN INITIAL ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $90,000, PER INDIVIDUAL AND/OR FIRM, FORATOTAL CONTRACT
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $450,000, PER INDIVIDUAL AND/OR FIRM, FROM
ACCOUNT CODE NO. 110166.200107.6.270, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Mentoring Initiative has generated consulting opportunities focused on
after -school programming efforts for youth in grades K-12, and are in conjunction with the Miami
Learning Zone and the Miami Youth Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 04-05-132, the City of Miami ("City")
sought proposals from qualified and experienced individuals or firms to provide Consulting Services
for the Mayor's Mentoring Initiative, and two (2) proposals were received and evaluated, with one
being deemed qualified; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute a
Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement"), in substantially the attached form, with Aimee Mir for
a one -year period, with the option to extend for four (4) additional one-year periods, and reserves the
option to add additional qualified firms or individuals to the contract at any time should it be in the
City's best interests; and
WHEREAS, funds are available from Account Code No. 110166.200107.6.270, in the initial
annual amount not to exceed $90,000, per individual or firm, and for a total contract amount not to
exceed $450,000, per individual and/or firm;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of the Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the

attached form, with Aimee Mir for a one-year period, with the option to extend for four (4) additional
one-year periods, and may add additional qualified firms or individuals over the term of the contract,
when deemed in the City's best interest.
Section 3. Funds, in an initial annual amount not to exceed $90,000, per individual and/or firm,
for a total contract amount not to exceed $450,000, per individual and/or firm, are allocated from
Account Code No. 110166.200107.6.270, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
