Purpose of Item:
It is recommended that the City Commission authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute the
attached Agreement(s), respectively, with Fisher Auction Co., Inc., the top ranked firm to provide On -
Site Auction Services, and with Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc., the top ranked firm to provide Internet
Auction Services, on an as needed basis for three (3) years, with the option to extend for two (2)
additional one (1) year periods.
Background Information:
The City issued RFP 04-05-137 for Auction Services for the City of Miami Purchasing Department
and members of the Southeast Florida Cooperative Purchasing Group, and five (5) Proposals were
received. An Evaluation Committee approved by the City Manager reviewed and evaluated the
Proposals and ranked Fisher Auction Co., Inc. as the top ranked firm for on -site auction services and
Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc., as the top ranked firm for internet auction services. The Committee
recommended the City negotiate and execute an Agreement(s) with Fisher Auction Co., Inc. to
provide on -site auction services, and with Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc. to provide internet auction
services on an as needed basis. Services will include on -site and internet auction services citywide.
The items auctioned range from automobiles (surplus and confiscated/found), trucks, fire -fighting
equipment and vehicles, heavy equipment, boats, work equipment, personal and mainframe
computers, office equipment, furniture, jewelry, electronics, miscellaneous police confiscated items
and found property.
