Thompson City Clerk Date: January 13, 2006 Subject: Nuisance Abatement Board References: February 9, 2006 Agenda Enclosures: List of members The Nuisance Abatement Board was created to resolve controversies over the existence of public nuisances, such as violative use of property in Miami. Pursuant to Code Sec. 2-885(b), no board member shall serve more than eight consecutive years on any one board. This provision may be waived by a unanimous (5/5) vote of the members of the City Commission. Two members' terms expired on May 5, 2005: • Commissioner Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Robert Valledor. Mr. Valledor has served as a member since May 5, 1994, exceeding Code term limit. • Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Monique Taylor. Ms. Taylor has served as a member since July 25, 1996, exceeding Code term limit. For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the December 15, 2005 Commission agenda. This matter was deferred from the May 12, 2005, July 7, 2005, November 3, 2005 and December 15, 2005 Commission meetings.
