A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF MIAMI AND BLACK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COALITION, INC.
("COALITION"), PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 05-0477, ADOPTED JULY 28,
2005, UNTIL JUNE 30, 2006, TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES
TO PRIVATE -FOR -PROFIT ENTITIES FOR DISTRICT 5; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT, 1N SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.
05-0477, BY CHANGING THE APPROVED ACTIVITY FOR THE COALITION, AS
DESCRIBED IN "ATTACHMENT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0477, adopted July 28,2005, the City Commission
awarded Black Economic Development Coalition, Inc. ("Coalition"), the amount of $40,000, to provide
Commercial Facade Treatment/ Commercial Code Compliance activities for District 5; and
WHEREAS, said agency has requested that due to negative economic factors due to the 2005
hurricane season, they believe that they can better serve the community by providing technical
assistance to private for -profit entities for District 5;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to extend the Agreement between the City of Miami
and the Coalition, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0477, adopted July 28, 2005, until June 30, 2006, to
provide technical assistance services to private -for -profit entities for District 5.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Amendment, in substantially the
attached form, for said purpose.
Section 4. Resolution No. 05-0477, is amended by changing the approved activity for the Coalition,
as described in "Attachment A," attached and incorporated.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1 } The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
