MARRERO FOR REPRESENTATION OF FORMER POLICE DETECTIVES JAMES E. BOONE AND BRUCE CHARLES ROBERSON IN THE CASE OF JERRY FRANK TOWNSEND VS. CITY OF MIAMI, ETC., ET AL., IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, CASE NO. 03-21072-CIV-JORDAN, PLUS ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS OF LITIGATION INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RETENTION OF EXPERTS AND CONSULTANTS, AS APPROVED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The expenditure of attorney's fees and costs, in an amount approved by the City Attorney, for the continued engagement of the law offices of Oscar E. Marrero for representation of former police detectives James E. Boone and Bruce Charles Roberson in the case of Jerry Frank Townsend vs. City of Miami, etc., et al., in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Case No. 03-21072-CIV-Jordan, plus any additional costs of litigation including but not limited to retention of experts and consultants, as approved by the City Attorney, is authorized. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
