A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING
NORTHWEST 2ND AVENUE FROM NORTHWEST 73RD STREET TO
NORTHWEST 77TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "POPE JOHN PAUL II
AVENUE;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION
TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Commission directive, the Miami Street Codesignation Review
Committee, at its meeting of February 2, 2006, reviewed and recommended the proposal for street
codesignation of Northwest 2nd Avenue from Northwest 73rd Street to Northwest 77th Street, Miami,
Florida, as "Pope John Paul II Avenue;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Northwest 2nd Avenue from Northwest 73rd Street to Northwest 77th Street, Miami,
Florida, is codesignated as "Pope John Paul II Avenue."
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a
copy of this Resolution to the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste, Miami -Dade County
Public Works and the United States Postal Service.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
