A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILLIAMS PAVING CO., INC., THE LOWEST
RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR
BIDS NO. 04-05-129, ISSUED OCTOBER 3, 2005, FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED
"AVALON STORM SEWERS PROJECT, PHASE 1 AND II, B-50685," IN THE TOTAL
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $3,094,286, AS STATED ON THE FORMAL BID
DOCUMENT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
FACT SHEET, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NOS. 352208, 341330 AND 352216;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the Administration has received bids for construction services for the project entitled
"Avalon Storm Sewers Project, Phase ! and II, B-50685," pursuant to formal Invitation for Bids No. 04-
05-129, issued October 3, 2005; and
WHEREAS, six bids were received and opened by the Office of the City Clerk on December 6,
2005, at 11:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, Williams Paving Co., Inc., is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pursuant to
said bid, in the amount of $3,094,286; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said
purpose; and
WHEREAS, funds to cover the total construction costs not to exceed $ 3,094,286, are available
from Capital Improvements Project Nos. 352208, 341330 and 352216;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The bid of Williams Paving Co., Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder
pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 04-05-129, issued October 3, 2005, for the project entitled "Avalon
Storm Sewers Project, Phase l and II, B-50685," in the total amount not to exceed $3,094,286, as
stated on the formal bid document and the Department of Capital Improvements Project Fact Sheet,
attached and incorporated, is accepted.
Section 3, Funds in the amount not to exceed $3,094,286, are allocated from Capital
Improvements Project Nos. 352208, 341330 and 352216.

Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, for said purpose,
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
