Purpose of Item: To ratify, approve and confirm amendments increasing the value of the project previously executed by the City Manager and authorize the City Manager to execute an additional amendment necessary for DMS to issue final payment to the construction contractor. 1 Background Information: The City entered into an Agreement with DMS on June 28, 1999 for DMS to act as the construction manager for the construction of the Hadley Park Community Center. The Agreement included a project budget of $2,400,000 for construction and a payment of $73,520 to DMS for their services. The City Commission through approval of Ordinances 11909, 12087, and Resolution 00-825 increased the available funding to $3,582,636. Subsequent to these approvals the City Manager entered in to three amendments to the Agreement increasing the project budget to $3,954,636. Prior to executing these amendments City Commission approval was not obtained. An additional increase in the project budget of $177,720 is required to increase the project budget under the Agreeement to allow DMS to make final payment to the construction contractor.
