A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "HOMELESS
EMERGENCY MOTEL FUNDS" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $25,000, CONSISTING OF AN AWARD RECEIVED FROM MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY THROUGH THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ENHANCING THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI
HOMELESS PROGRAM AND SPECIFICALLY FOR EMERGENCY MOTEL FUNDS
FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES WAITING FOR BED AVAILABILITY AT AN
EMERGENCY SHELTER OR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID AWARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Homeless Assistance Program ("Program") provides outreach
assessment, information and referral services to the homeless citizens of the City of Miami("City"); and
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust has awarded funds in the amount of $25,000
to the Program to fund motel expenses for homeless families until emergency shelter space is
available, thus enhancing the homeless services provided by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated
as described herein:
FUND TITLE: Homeless Emergency Motel Funds
RESOURCES: Miami -Dade County through the Miami -Dade Homeless Trust $25,000
APPROPRIATION: Enhancing services for the Program and specifically for emergency $25,000
motel funds for homeless families waiting for bed availability at an
emergency shelter or transitional housing
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, to implement acceptance of said award.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
