Subject: Proposed Resolution Authorizing Payment ofFY'05-'06 Miami Dade County Scale Fees
Purpose of Item:
It is respectfully recommended that the attached Resolution authorizing the payment to Miami -Dade
County for the disposal of solid waste materials collected in and by the City of Miami in the amount
of $9,600,000.00 be approved. These funds will be expended as necessary throughout the fiscal year.
Background Information:
The City of Miami entered into an Interlocal Agreement with Miami -Dade County for the use of the
County's Solid Waste Management System Facilities for disposal of certain solid waste materials
collected in and by the City of Miami. The Interlocal Agreement established the fees for disposal of
material at $53.65 or $64.25 per ton at the Resource Recovery, Landfill or Transfer Facilities
respectively.
