A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER MIAMI, INC., TO THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FOR THE CONVEYANCE OF THE PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED AT 236
NORTHWEST 16TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS LEGALLY DESCRIBED IN
"EXHIBIT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO CONVEY, WITH PARCEL REVERTER PROVISIONS, SAID PARCEL
OF LAND TO OVERTOWN CONDOMINIUM, LLC., FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME PERSONS;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, FOR SAID PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc., ("Habitat") is the current owner of a
parcel of land located at 236 Northwest 16th Street, Miami, Florida ("Property"); and
WHEREAS, Habitat has agreed to release the Property to the City of Miami ("City") for the
development of affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, there is a pressing need for decent, affordable housing in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City will utilize the Property to develop a building which will provide 31 affordable
housing units to low to moderate income persons; and
WHEREAS, Overtown Condominium, LLC ("Overtown"), currently owns a parcel of land adjacent
to the Property and is committed to the development of affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, the City will convey, with parcel reverter provisions, the Property to Overtown for the
development of affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, Overtown will have eighteen (18) months from the date of land conveyance to
complete the construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to accept a Quit Claim Deed from Habitat, to the City,
for the conveyance of the Property, as legally described in "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to convey, with parcel reverter provisions, the Property

to Overtown, for the development of affordable housing for low to moderate income persons.
Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to execute all necessary documents, for said
purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
