Subject: Resolution authorizing the procurement of three Aerial Bucket Trucks
Purpose of Item:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the
procurement of two (2) Altec I.42A Aerial Devices and one (1) Altec AA755 Aerial Device (Bucket
Trucks), from Altec Industries, Inc., utilizing an existing Bid No. 26-078X, with the School Board of
Broward County, Florida, for a total contract amount not to exceed $331,902.00, for the Department
of Public Works, Operations Division; allocating funds from Capital Improvements Project Account
No. 352296, B-30156.
Background Information:
The Department of Public Works, Operations Division, is seeking to purchase (3) Aerial Bucket
Trucks for the trimming of trees along the City of Miami streets. These new trucks have a higher
reach capacity (42 to 55 feet) offering more stability with their outrigger system, hydraulic tools, and
quick disconnect couplings, permitting workers to trim trees that are currently unreachable.
