HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution File Number: 05-01498 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.clmiami.fl.us Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FOUR NEW PARK IMPROVEMENT GRANTS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $386,000; AMENDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS APPROPRIATIONS RESOLUTION NO. 05-0689, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 17, 2005, BY APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS INTO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NUMBERS SPECIFIED HEREIN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT ACCEPTANCE AGREEMENT(S), FORM(S), NECESSARY DOCUMENT(), TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF ANY SAID GRANTS, WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation ("Department") applied for a grant from the National Center for Boundless Playground and received an award of $68,000 for Riverside Park; and WHEREAS, the Department applied for a second grant from the National Center for Boundless Playground and received an award of $68,000 for Unity Park; and WHEREAS, the Department applied for a grant from the United States Tennis Association ("USTA") for Bryan Park and received $200,000 from USTA and $60,000 from USTA Florida Division for new tennis courts at Bryan Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Miami City Commission accepts and appropriates four grants, in the total amount of $386,000. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{2} to execute the Grant Acceptance Agreement(s), in substantially the attached form(s), which include among other things, approval of construction documents and the granting of naming rights to CVS/pharmacy Charitable Trust and any necessary documents, to implement acceptance of said grants. Section 3.
