HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fi.us Final Action Date: File Number: 05-01489 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CONTRIBUTION FUND, FISCAL RIATING IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000, CONSISTING OF GRANT FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION, TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE TO ACQUIRE ELEVEN (11) AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS TO BE PLACED IN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") POLICE VEHICLES AND TO PROVIDE HANDS -ON -TRAINING AND MATERIAL TO CITY PERSONNEL; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANARY DOG UMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF° SAID GRANT ER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE HE NECESSARY NE AWARD, WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant in the amount of $25,000 in support of the City's Public Access Defibrillation Program for Fiscal Year 2005; and WHEREAS, pursuant to grant stipulations, said funds will be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue for the acquisition of eleven (11) automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in the City police vehicles and to provide hands -on -training and material to City personnel; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to accept said grant and to establish a special revenue fund for the appropriation of said grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: American Heart Association Contribution Fund, Fiscal Year 2005 RESOURCES: American Heart Association $25,000 APPROPRIATIONS: $25,000 Section 3. FERNANDEZ CITY ATTORNEY itU Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} if the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
