On the 27th day of July 2006, the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, met at its
regular meeting place in City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, in regular
session. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Angel Gonzalez at 9:28 a.m.,
recessed at 12:51 p.m., reconvened at 3:00 p.m., recessed at 7:29 p.m., reconvened at 7:48
p.m., recessed at 8:28 p.m., reconvened at 8:34 p.m., and adjourned at 9:52 p.m.

PRESENTATIONS AND PROCLAMATIONS
1. Mayor Diaz presented a proclamation to Consul General Jorge E. Roman Morey in
recognition of Peruvian Independence Day, July 28, 2006, Peru's 185th year of
independence.
2. Mayor Diaz presented certificates to Megumi Sakanaka, Eri Amiya, Mai Chaen, Hibiki
Kimura, Chika Matsushita, Mako Kawabata, Asako Yamamoto, Marina Ohto, Sayumi
Sakoda, Mao Matsushita , Hideaki Fukusaki, Kousuke Kukita, Shota Watanabe, Karuna
Hayashi, and Aya Kamikatahira, the 2006 participants of the Miami -Kagoshima Sister Cities
Student Exchange Program; and to their chaperone, Hideyuki Ogura.
3. Commissioner Haskins presented a proclamation to City employees Laura Billberry,
Stephen Bogner, and Alejandra Argudin, in recognition of National Marina Day, for their
outstanding work managing the City's marinas.
