Dear Panel members:
The City of Miami Fire Rescue (MFR) Department is pleased to submit The SimMan "Manikin" EMS
Grant Application to the Florida Department of Health. The purpose of the program is to purchase and
implement a Manikin training program to benefit the MFR staff. The implementation of this program will
reduce the morbidity and mortality rate of residents and visitors in the City, thus saving lives.
MFR is requesting a grant of $50,189 for 1 year and providing a 25% match of $16,729 for a total of
$66,918. Grant funds will be used to purchase a SimMan Manikin and include it in our daily training
sessions. It will also provide one-on-one training at SimMan Laboratory for MFR instructors.
