Purpose of Item: Increase the contract with Environmental Performance Systems, Inc. by $50,000 from $196,480 to $246,480 to allow the retrofitting to be implemented in other areas of the City of Miami. Background Information: The initiative of the project is to implement a pilot program by installing retrofitting devices in every storm sewer system that is direelty contributing to the waters of the state. The retrofitting devices will prevent trash and debris from entering the storm sewer systems as part of the city's Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program. The retrofiting devices are installed in type "F-3" catch basins and are currently being monitored by our department for future data collection for the mandatory statewide environmental program. This contract increase will allow us to have different areas within the city, such as Overtown and Allapattah Market Place, contributing to the data needed to implement the TMDL program by showing a decrease in pollutant loading into Biscayne Bay.
