Subject: Accepting the bid to purchase Ammunition
Purpose of Item:
It is respectfully recommended that the city commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the
bid of Florida Bullet, Inc a non-minority/non-local vendor, located at PO Box 7497, Clearwater, FL
33758, for the purchase of ammunition supply for training departmental personnel, in the amount of
$37,542.50. Funding is available from the Police General Fund Operating Budget Account Code No.
001000.290201,6.703
Background Information:
The Police Department must provide State mandated firearms training to its police recruits and annual
weapon qualifications to its sworn personnel. The requested ammunition is necessary to replenish
depleted stocks so that these training courses may be continued.
Pursuant to Bid No. 04-05-105, thirty seven (37) notices were sent to potential bidders. Florida Bullet,
Inc. submitted the only responsive bid and, therefore is recommended for the award. The bid is for an
initial period of two years with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
