A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING TRUST FUND,
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $90,000; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS FROM
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROJECT NOS. 690001, 690002 AND
690003, WITH SUCH EXPENDITURES HAVING BEEN APPROVED BY THE CHIEF
OF POLICE AS COMPLYING WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE
TREASURY AND JUSTICE'S, "GUIDE TO EQUITABLE SHARING," AND FLORIDA
STATE STATUTE, CHAPTER 932.7055, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Treasury and Justice, and Florida State Statute
932.7055, authorize the expenditures of forfeited cash or proceeds for certain law enforcement
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Department of Police will be training its personnel in any area that is
necessary to perform or support official law enforcement duties, and to further professional law
enforcement career development; and
WHEREAS, funds will also be used for applicable training costs such as registration fees, travel,
books and tuition; and
WHEREAS, funds to cover said expenditures are available from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund,
Project Nos. 690001, 690002 and 690003, with such expenditure having been certified by the Chief
of Police as complying with Florida State Statute 932.7055, as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of funds to the Law Enforcement Training Trust Fund, in the amount not
to exceed $90,000, is authorized, with funds allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project
Nos. 690001, 690002 and 690003, with such expenditure having been approved by the Chief of
Police as complying with the United States Department of the Treasury and Justice's, "Guide to
Equitable Sharing," and Florida State Statute, Chapter 932.7055, as amended.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
