Glenn Marcos, Director of Purchasing, sent a letter dated October 31, 2005, stating that we were one of the recommended vendors. Unfortunately, we did not receive power back to Divers Unlimited until Wednesday, November 9th, 2005. Our first day back in business was Thursday, November 10, and you can imagine how hectic that was after 3 weeks closed. Upon reviewing the above bid and ta.11ey sheet, it has come to our attention that we must unfortuately recant and do a "NO BID" on a item upon which we were the low bidder, line item #2 for the rebreather. We regret the retraction, but we were not given the full costs from our supplier when we requested same prior to our bid. The resulting error is almost $900 per line item in cost difference, which would result in Divers Unlimited losing almost $11000 on this line item. I am sure from the disparity of our quote against the other two vendors you can see what happened. We have been placing bids with you for over 20 years, and this has never happened to us before. We appreciate your understanding, and the retraction of our bid on this line item. I tried to telephone you, but you were out of the office until Monday. I am going out of the country tomorrow until Thursday. I will contact you on Friday, November 18, 2005, if you wish to discuss this further. PLEASE RESPOND VIA EMAIL WITH RECEIPT OF THIS EMAIL. Thank you for your assistance, and we hope this does not jeopardize further business between us. Sincerely, Colleen Inman/Office Manager 1
