The Community Technology Advisory Board was created to provide advice, oversight and grant
solicitation in support of community related computer technology and "distance learning" initiatives.
Community based grants and awards of funds relating to computers, technology and distance based learning
shall be referred to this board.
Members must possess some specific knowledge, training or teaching experience in the field
of Information Technology.
Five voting members have terms which expired on September 9, 2005:
• Vice Chairman Gonzalez has one nomination for seat currently held by Bret Cocking.
• Commissioner Winton has one nomination for seat currently held by Eldred F. Garcia,
who has exceeded the number of absences allowed by City Code (4 absences in 2005)
• Chairman Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Fred Jackson, who has
exceeded the number of absences allowed by City Code (5 absences in 2005).
• Commissioner Spence -Jones has one nomination for seat currently held by April Young,
who has exceeded the number of absences allowed by City Code (4 absences in 2005).
• Mayor Diaz has one appointment for seat currently held by Luis Mata, who has exceeded
the number of absences allowed by City Code (4 absences in 2005)
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the December 15,
2005 Commission agenda. This matter was deferred from the November 3, 2005 Commission
Meeting.
