The Equal Opportunity Advisory Board was created to review and recommend to the City Commission
the adoption of amendments/revisions to the City's affirmative action plan. The board also reviews
employment policies and practices of the City and makes recommendations to the Department of Human
Resources.
Five appointments are needed at this time:
• Vice Chairman Gonzalez has one nomination for seat currently held by Miriam Urra,
who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code (6 absences in 2005).
• Commissioner Winton has two nominations for seats currently held by:
1. Patrick Range, Jr., who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City
Code (5 absences in 2005); and
2. Yvonne Mc Donald, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per
City Code (4 absences in 2005)
• Chairman Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Raul Dominguez,
whose term expired February 8, 2005 and who has exceeded the number of absences
allowed per City Code (8 absences in 2005).
• Commissioner Spence -Jones has one nomination for seat currently vacant because
Charles Cutler resigned.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By
copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the
December 15, 2005 Commission agenda. This matters was deferred from the November 3, 2005
Commission meeting.
