HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-05-0757City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-05-0757 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 05-01486 Final Action Date: 12/15/2005 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF SIX MONTHS OF SALARY TO MARVA L. WILEY AS SEVERANCE PAY UPON HER SEPARATION FROM THE MODEL CITY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION DISTRICT TRUST. WHEREAS, the Model City Community Revitalization District Trust ("Model City Trust") Board of Directors appointed Marva L. Wiley to serve as Interim President of the Model City Trust on March 8, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Model City Trust appointed her as President/CEO on January 23, 2004, and transmitted that appointment to the Miami City Commission for confirmation; and WHEREAS, that appointment included a compensation package that provided for a severance package of three (3) months for each year of service from the date of the interim appointment; and WHEREAS, Marva L. Wiley has tendered her resignation to the Model City Trust Board of Directors effective December 31, 2005, for a total service of two years and nine months as President/CEO; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The payment of six months of salary to Marva L. Wiley as severance pay upon her separation from the Model City Trust, is authorized. Section 3. Said severance pay shall not affect any pre-existing rights to accrued vacation and/or sick time. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
