This is a multi -agency project with the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency, which is funding the improvements, estimated in the total amount of $741,000 from the Omni Tax Increment Funds, "Construction in Progress" account code number 686001.590320.6.860. Background Information: The CRA asked the Department of Capital Improvements and Transpiration (CIT) to assist in implementing right-of-way improvements in the roads leading to the new PAC, consisting primarily of milling and resurfacing, curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk repairs, and the installation of sidewalk pavers and decorative lighting. The City and affected parties, including the CRA and PAC, want to have the work completed by the soft opening of the PAC in August 2006. Prior action of the Omni CRA Board of Directors has provided funds for all of the improvements, which will be performed and administered by the CIT, FDOT and the County. Directo / City Manager ,/ se 1 of 2 SUPPLEMENTAL PAGE AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: Requesting Department: Capital Improvements & Transportation Subject: JPA with County for PAC Street Improvement Project No. B-39361 Background Information (continued): Because the County is scheduled to have construction contractors at work within the City's project boundary, CIT asked the County to take on portions of the work so as to minimize conflict with multiple contractors, The attached JPA has been negotiated, and defines the responsibilities of the City and the County for their respective portions of the work, as well as maintenance responsibilities after the work has been completed, including the CRA's commitment to maintain the decorative lighting. CIT will provide all required design services, will furnish the decorative light poles and fixtures, and will complete the balance of road improvement work on roads and sidewalks within the area. It is intended that the design of this project serve as the pilot for continued streetscape and road improvements in the Omni Entertainment District. The estimated cost of the County -performed work is $741,000. The funds are being furnished from the Omni Tax Increment Fund. Page 2 of 2
