Thompson City Clerk Subject: Overtown Advisory Board References: October 27, 2005 Agenda Enclosures: List of members The Overtown Advisory Board (OAB) was created to encourage and support historic preservation and provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding all City funded or assisted activities, developments, or improvements within the Overtown area. An election was scheduled for October 18, 2005 for four seats on the OAB, which terms expired on September 14, 2005. The election was cancelled because three individuals qualified as candidates for four seats. Said candidates, listed below, are unopposed and are thereby declared winners: 1. Barbara K. Loyd 2. Francisco De La Paz 3. Emanuel Washington Pursuant to Miami Code Section 2-105, the City Commission at large has to ratify the elected individuals to be appointed as members of the Overtown Advisory Board. Our office will hold another election to fill the remaining seat pending to be filled. For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current board membership. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to schedule this item on the October 27, 2005 Commission Agenda as a consent agenda item.
