A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION EXTENDING THE
DECLARATION OF AN EXEMPTION FROM THE PROHIBITIONS AND
RESTRICTIONS CONTAINED IN SECTIONS 36-4(A) AND 36-5 (A) OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AS RELATED TO THE LEVEL
AND HOURS OF NOISE RESULTING FROM FILMING "MIAMI VICE," FROM
SEPTEMBER 30, 2005, TO DECEMBER 31, 2005, AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, WITH EACH LOCATION AND TIME PERMITTED
BY THE OFFICE OF FILM ARTS, CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT.
WHEREAS, a declaration of an exemption from the "Noise Ordinance" as related to the filming of
"Miami Vice" was granted from June 29 through September 30, 2005; and
WHEREAS, an extension of the declaration had not been requested previously due to
postponements of City Commission meetings and inclement weather conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The exemption declared from the prohibitions and restrictions contained in Sections 36
-4(a) and 36-5 (a) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, as related to the level and
hours of noise resulting from filming "Miami Vice," is extended from September 30, 2005 to December
31, 2005, at various locations in the City of Miami, Florida, with each location and time permitted by
the Office of Film Arts, Culture and Entertainment.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
