A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE TWO (2) MAINTENANCE
AGREEMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY, FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") TO MAINTAIN TRAFFIC CALMING
DEVICES SUCH AS TRAFFIC CIRCLES, TO BE INSTALLED BY THE CITY AS
PROPOSED IN THE TRAFFIC CALMING STUDIES PREPARED FOR THE SILVER
BLUFF AND SHENANDOAH NEIGHBORHOODS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") will be installing traffic calming devices in the Silver Bluff
and Shenandoah neighborhoods ("Neighborhoods") as proposed in the traffic calming studies
prepared for the Neighborhoods in an effort to provide traffic relief and improved quality of life to our
residents in the Neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of the rights -of -way on which the traffic calming devices will be
installed; and
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County ("County") Public Works Department must approve the
installation of traffic calming devices and requires maintenance agreements for the devices as a
condition of its approval; and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that it would be beneficial to both the County and the City to have
the City install and maintain the traffic calming devices; and
WHEREAS, the County and the City have determined that it would be to the best interest of the
general public to enter into the attached agreements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute two (2) Maintenance Agreements, in
substantially the attached form, with the County, for the City to maintain the traffic calming devices
such as traffic circles, to be installed by the City as proposed in the traffic calming studies for the
Neighborhoods.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
