A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT A CONTRIBUTION OF FUNDS, 1N THE AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $15,000, FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY COMMISSION OFFICE
OF COMMISSIONER CARLOS GIMENEZ, FOR THE PURPOSE OF BAYWASH
2005, A "CLEAN-UP" MIAMI PROJECT; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE
CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC FACILITIES; FURTHER
ALLOCATING THE REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$15,000, FROM THE CITY'S NON -DEPARTMENTAL ACCOUNT.
WHEREAS, the existing channels at Brennan's Channel at Dinner Key Marina and the spoil/barrier
islands have derelict vessels submerged in the waters surrounding Dinner Key Marina; and
WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County Commissioner Carlos A. Gimenez is contributing $15,000 to the
City of Miami's Department of Public Facilities towards the "BAYWASH 2005" initiative; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager seeks authorization from the City Commission to accept the
contribution in an amount not to exceed $15,000 from the Miami Dade County Commission to be
allocated to the City of Miami's ("City's") Department of Public Facilities towards the BAYWASH 2005,
a "clean-up" Miami project; and
WHEREAS, matching funds, in the amount not to exceed $15,000, are required by the City and will
be allocated to the City's Department of Public Facilities for the purposes of BAYWASH 2005;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORI DA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a contribution of funds, in the amount not to
exceed $15,000, from the Miami -Dade County Commission Office of Commissioner Gimenez, for the
purpose of BAYWASH 2005, a "clean-up" Miami project, with said funds allocated to the City's
Department of Public Facilities.
Section 3. Further allocating the required matching funds, in the amount of $15,000, from the City's
Non -Departmental Account.
Section 4. The City's Department of Public Facilities accepts the terms and conditions set forth for
the acceptance of said contribution by Commission Gimenez.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} if the mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
