A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CLASSIFYING ONE
THOROUGHBRED HORSE KNOWN AS "JETS BULLET," REGISTRATION NO.
9729433, AS "CATEGORY A" SURPLUS STOCK; FURTHER STIPULATING THAT
SAID HORSE BE DONATED TO BRENDA WATKINS AT NO COST TO THE CITY
OF MIAMI AND THAT SAID DONATION BE VALID AND EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY, UPON THE EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE RELEASE
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City's") Department of Police Mounted Patrol Detail has a horse
known as "Jets Bullet," Registration No. 9729433, which has become lame and requires extensive
veterinarian treatment consequently is no longer beneficial to the City; and
WHEREAS, the original donor has previously waived all rights and interest in the horse and has
further agreed to allow the City's Department of Police Mounted Patrol Detail to find a suitable home
for the horse upon the horse's inability to function with the Department of Police; and
WHEREAS, Brenda Watkins has a horse retirement farm in Tennessee which would be ideal for a
horse in Jets Bullet's condition and has indicated a desire to care for the horse; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Watkins has agreed to be responsible for all arrangements to transport Jets Bullet
to said horse retirement farm at no expense to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. One thoroughbred horse known as "Jets Bullet," Registration No. 9729433, is classified
as "Category A" surplus stock.
Section 3. It is further stipulated that the horse be donated to Brenda Watkins and that said
donation be valid and effective immediately upon execution of the appropriate release documents.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

t1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
