The City of Miami Fire Rescue (MFR) Department is pleased to submit The Wireless Data Device EMS
Grant Application to the Florida Department of Health. The purpose of the program is to purchase and
install Wireless Data Devices in all MFR EMS units. The implementation of this program will reduce the
morbidity and mortality rate of residents and visitors in the City, thus increasing the possibility of saving
human lives.
The program contributes towards the State EMS Office's goal to:
"...develop an integrated data system for use in research and validation of EMS
delivery systems, including evaluation of service delivery and patient outcome."
MFR is requesting a grant of $283,163 for 1 year and providing a 25% match of $94,387 for a total of
$377,550. Grant funds will be used to purchase and install 54 Wireless Data collection Devices and train
the staff on their use.
