HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-05-0589City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-05-0589 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 05-01023 Final Action Date: 9/27/2005 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE VIRGINIA KEY BEACH PARK TRUST, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2005 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2006, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,354,441, WITH AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,000,000, TRANSFERRED IMMEDIATELY AND THE BALANCE TO BE TRANSFERRED IN PHASED PAY -OUTS. WHEREAS, the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust ("Trust") is a limited instrumentality of the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the City has determined that the necessary increase in overall administrative costs related to planning and managing on -site construction, park maintenance, museum planning and design, marketing and development, will result in the need for $1,354,441 in General funds for Fiscal Year 2005-2006; and WHEREAS, the Trust has requested this amount from the City's General Fund to provide the administrative staff the support to continue the progress and improvements at Virginia Key Beach Park; and WHEREAS, an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, will be transferred immediately with the balance to be transferred in phased pay -outs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The annual budget for the Trust, for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2005 and ending September 30, 2006, in an amount not to exceed $1,354,441, with an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 to be transferred immediately and the balance to be transferred in phased pay -outs. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon the override of the veto by the City Commission.
