Subject: Arnending}e Financial Integrity Principle
Purpose of Item:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached ordinance amending the
Financial Integrity Principles. The Principles require the City to review and update the Principles as
necessary. The attached amendment was reviewed and approved by Linda Haskins, Deputy City
Manager/CFO, Larry Spring, Chief of Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Performance, Victor Igwe,
Auditor General, and Scott Simpson, Finance Director,
Background Information:
With passage of the Anti -Deficiency Act (Ordinance 11727), the City began the process of setting
into law the framework to prevent another financial crisis through use of its own municipal home rule
powers by adopting financial "best practices" principles to serve as the basis for governing the City's
finances in the future.
