Background Information:
The Department of Fire -Rescue must have the ability provide firefighters' protective clothing to its
sworn personnel. Bunker gear is damaged almost daily during emergency response operations and
with the continuous influx of new recruits, our inventory of protective clothing has once again been
depleted. The proposed garments will be used by the Fire -Rescue Department to replace worn and
damaged gears on an as -needed basis, and to replenish the department's inventory necessary to outfit
the upcoming recruit class.
The Department of Fire -Rescue has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 03-04-123. The
bid from Chieftain Safety Manufacturing was deemed as the lowest most responsible and responsive
bidder, meeting specifications and is therefore recommended for the award.
