HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fl.us File Number: 05-00981 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 04-0703, ADOPTED OCTOBER 28, 2004, WHICH ESTABLISHED AND APPROPRIATED FUNDS FOR A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED "FEMA/USAR GRANT AWARD, FISCAL YEARS 2004-2006 FUND;" AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS AND INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000, RECEIVED FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO COVER TRAVEL/ADMINISTRATION COSTS NECESSARY FOR THE SOUTH FLORIDA URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE PROGRAM, INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION AMOUNT FROM $938,035 TO THE AMOUNT OF $973,035; CORRECTING THE RESOURCES NAME TO REFLECT SAME; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0703, adopted October 28, 2004, the City Commission accepted a grant in the amount of $938,035 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA") for the operation of the South Florida Urban Search and Rescue ("USAR") Program for Fiscal Years 2004 and 2005; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase and appropriate said grant award by $35,000, from $938,035 to $973,035, received from FEMA, to be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue to cover travel/administrative costs necessary for the USAR Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. 04-0703, adopted October 28, 2004, is amended in the following particulars:{1} "Resolution No. 04-0703 * Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{2} to execute the necessary documents, to implement acceptance of said grant. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {3} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:/ JORG; L. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. {2} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that my be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {3} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
