From: Priscilla A. Thompson
City Clerk
Date: August 18, 2005
Subject: Overtown Advisory Board
References: September 8, 2005 Agenda
Enclosures: List of members
The Overtown Advisory Board (OAB) was created to encourage and support historic
preservation and provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding all City funded or
assisted activities, developments, or improvements within the Overtown area.
An election was scheduled for August 25, 2005 for six seats on the OAB, which terms will expire
on September 14, 2005. The election was cancelled because two individuals qualified as
candidates for six seats. Said candidates, listed below, are unopposed and are thereby declared
winners:
1. Charles J. Flowers, Ph.D
2. Rosa Green
Pursuant to Miami Code Section 2-105, the City Commission at large has to ratify the elected
individuals to be appointed as members of the Overtown Advisory Board.
Our office will hold another election to fill the remaining four seats with terms that will expire on
September 14, 2005.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current board membership. By copy of this
memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to schedule this item on the September 8, 2005
Commission Agenda as a consent agenda item.
