NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF HEARING TO IMPOSE AND PROVIDE
FOR COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS
Notice is given that the City Commission of the City of Miami
will conduct a public hearing to consider imposing Solid Waste
special assessments for the provision of Solid Waste services
within the City of Miami for the Fiscal Year commencing
October 1, 2005 and ending September 30, 2006.
The hearing will be held at 5:05 p.m. on September 8,
2005, in the City Commission Chambers of City Hall, 3500
Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, for the purpose of
receiving public comment on the proposed assessments. All
affected property owners have a right to appear at the hearing
and to file written objections with the City Commission within
.20 days of this notice. If a person decides to appeal any
decision made by the City Commissioners with respect to any
matter considered at the hearing, such person will need a
record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a
verbatim record is made, including the testimony and
evidence upon which the appeal is to be made. In accordance
with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing a
special accommodation or an interpreter to participate in this
proceeding should contact the City Clerk at (305) 250-5360
at least seven days prior to the date of the hearing.
The assessment for each parcel of property will be based
upon each parcel's classification and the total number of
billing units attributed to that parcel. The following table
reflects the proposed Solid Waste assessment schedule:

Copies of the Solid Waste Assessment Ordinance, Initial
Assessment Resolution and the preliminary assessment roll
are available for inspection at the Office of the City Clerk of
Miami, Florida, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida.
Unless proper steps are initiated in a court of competent
jurisdiction to secure relief within 20 days from the date of
City Commission action at the above hearing (including the
method of apportionment, the rate of assessment and the
imposition of assessments), such action shall be the final
adjudication of the issues presented.
The assessments will he collected on the same bill as ad
valorem taxes. Failure to pay the assessment will result in
either the commencement of foreclosure proceedings or
cause a tax certificate to be issued against the property which
may result in a loss of title.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Village of Palmetto Bay shall be meeting for a Special
Council meeting on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at 6:00
p.m. The meeting shall be held at the Deering Estate
Visitor Center, 16701 S.W. 72 Avenue, Palmetto Bay, FL
33157. During this meeting, the Village Council will hold a
public hearing to consider the following matter:

reading:

NEGOTIATION OF A LOAN • IN AN

LOAN COUNCIL; APPROVING THE FORM OF
AND THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A
LOAN AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA
MUNICIPAL LOAN COUNCIL; APPROVING
THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A
BOND PURCHASE CONTRACT; APPROVING
THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A
CONTINUING DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT;
PROVIDING CERTAIN OTHER MATTERS IN
CONNECTION WITH THE MAKING OF SUCH
LOAN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
All persons are invited to appear at this meeting, or to be
represented by an agent, or to express their views: in
writing addressed to the Village Council c/o of the Village
Clerk, 8950 S.W. 152 Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. The
documents pertaining to this public hearing may be
inspected at the office of the Village Clerk during regular
working hours. Inquiries may be directed to the Clerk at
(305) 259-1234.
The above items may be continued at this meeting and,
under such circumstances, additional legal notice would
not be provided. Any person may contact the Village Clerk
for information as to the status of this item as a result of
the meeting.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if any
person decides to appeal any decision by the Village
Council with regard to this or any matter, he/she will need
to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is
made, which record includes the testimony and evidence
upon which the appeal is to be based. This notice does
not constitute consent by the Village for the introduction or
admission of otherwise inadmissible evidence, nor does it
authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by
law.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of
1990, persons needing special accommodation (or
hearing impaired) to participate in this proceeding or to
review any documents relative thereto should contact the
Village for assistance at (305) 259-1234 no later than four
(4) days prior to the proceedings.
