A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AN
INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT WITH VARIOUS VENDORS, FOR THE
PROCUREMENT OF VEHICLES, TRUCKS, VANS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT,
UTILIZING EXISTING CONTRACTS, PURSUANT TO FLORIDA SHERIFFS
ASSOCIATION, FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES AND FLORIDA FIRE
CHIEFS' ASSOCIATION BID NOS. 04-12-0823 AND 04-05-0824, EFFECTIVE
THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2005, SUBJECT TO ANY EXTENSIONS OR
REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 05-215,
ADOPTED APRIL 14, 2005, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $125,000,
INCREASING THE TOTAL ANNUAL AMOUNT FROM $1,300,000 TO $1,425,000;
ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005, FROM THE GENERAL
OPERATING BUDGETS AND GRANTS OF THE VARIOUS USER DEPARTMENTS
AND AGENCIES, WITH FUTURE FISCAL YEAR FUNDING SUBJECT ONLY TO
AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 05-215, adopted April 14, 2005, authorized the procurement of
vehicles, trucks, vans and other equipment, from various vendors, utilizing existing contracts, pursuant
to Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Association of Counties and Florida Fire Chiefs' Association Bid
Nos. 04-12-0823 and 04-05-0824, effective through September 30, 2005, to be utilized by various user
departments and agencies on an as needed contract basis, in an estimated annual amount not to
exceed $1,300,000, with funds allocated for Fiscal Year 2004-2005, from the General Operating
Budgets and grants of the various user departments and agencies, with future fiscal year funding
subject only to availability of funds and budgetary approval; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has seen a need to increase said contract due to an
increased demand for vehicles, trucks, vans and other equipment from the various user departments
and agencies; and
WHEREAS, funds for said increase are available from the General Operating Budgets and grants
of the various user departments and agencies, with future fiscal year funding subject only to availability
of funds and budgetary approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Resolution No. 05-215, adopted April 14, 2005, is amended in the following
particulars:{1}

Section 1. The procurement of vehicles, trucks, vans and other equipment, from various

Section 3. Funds, in an annual amount not to exceed $125,000, for said increase, will be allocated
for Fiscal Year 2004-2005, from the General Operating Budgets and grants of the various user
departments and agencies, with future fiscal year funding subject only to availability of funds and
budgetary approval,
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption and signature of the
Mayor.{2}

{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
