A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING
SOUTHWEST 25TH AVENUE FROM SOUTHWEST 21 ST TERRACE TO
SOUTHWEST 22ND STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "AVENIDA JOSEFINA P.
CASTANO;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO COMPLY WITH
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AS STATED
HEREIN AND TO INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT
A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to a City Commission directive, the Miami Street Codesignation Review
Committee, at its meeting of August 10, 2005, reviewed and recommended the proposal for street
codesignation of Southwest 25th Avenue from Southwest 21 st Terrace to Southwest 22nd Street,
Miami, Florida, as "Avenida Josefina P. Castano;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2, Southwest 25th Avenue from Southwest 21 st Terrace to Southwest 22nd Street, Miami,
Florida,is codesignated as "Avenida Josefina P. Castano."
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy
of this Resolution to the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste, Miami -Dade County Public
Works and the United States Postal Service.
Section 4. The City Manager is directed to implement this Resolution and to comply with Sections
54-137 and 54-138 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, entitled "Street
Codesignation," in all respects.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
