HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miaml.fl.us File Number: 05-00902 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION APPROVING THE PROVISION OF DISASTER RECOVERY SERVICES, FROM GRUBBS EMERGENCY SERVICES, LLC, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN CASE OF DISASTER DEPLOYMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE, TO BE UTILIZED CITYWIDE UNDER AN EXISTING MARION COUNTY CONTRACT NO. 01Q-017, EFFECTIVE UNTIL JUNE 8, 2010, ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACT BASIS, FOR A ONE-YEAR PERIOD, WHEN A NEW REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS WILL BE ISSUED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR SAID SERVICES. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") may experience massive destruction wrought by the impact of a hurricane landfall, violent storms, spawning tornadoes as well as other natural and/or manmade disasters; and WHEREAS, it is foreseen that it may be necessary to provide for debris removal and disaster recovery technical assistance resulting from these events; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Contract No. 01Q-017 established by Marion County, these services can be procured, if needed, under the same prices, terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, it is understood that Grubbs Emergency Services, LLC, will perform as prime contractor for all operations; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The provision of disaster recovery services, from Grubbs Emergency Services, LLC, for the purpose of providing technical assistance in case of disaster deployment for the Department of Solid Waste, to be utilized citywide under an existing Marion County Contract No. 01Q-017, effective until June 8, 2010, on an as -needed basis, for a one-year period, when a new Request for Proposal will be issued by the City for said services, is approved. Section 3.
