HomeMy WebLinkAboutExhibit 2MISSION: GOAL: OBJECTIVE I: Action Steps ATTACHMENT A Miami -Dade Chamber of Commerce Scope of Services 2005 - 2006 The Miami -Dade Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is a voluntary Association of business and professional persons working together to promote the business and economic interests of the black community throughout Dade County. To carry out this Mission, the Miami -Dade Chamber of Commerce serves as an advocate and the conscience of the black business community, promoting and assisting in community and economic development, and striving to insure economic parity. Our long term mission is to assist business growth in poverty stricken areas throughout Miami Florida. These businesses employ the working poor and bringing economic growth to these areas will reduce poverty through job creation. The Chamber will promote the building of economic wealth in the Black business community through various programs such as access to business capital, information clearing house and marketing tools. Through these initiatives the Chamber will assist the Black business community to realize its potential. The Chamber will develop quarterly forums for its members and the small black businesses to gain access to business capital for investment, expansion or development. 1. The Chamber will collaborate with public and private entities to host informative workshops/seminars for members and small black businesses on how to access financial resources from non-traditional and traditional sources. The workshopslseminars will be held quarterly. The expected attendance for the workshops/seminars is 200 people. Accountability Measurement: # of attendees (4 workshops) Verification: Attendance log 2. The Chamber will utilize the services of its corporate members to look within their companies to identify untapped resources and opportunities. Page 2 OBJECTIVE II: To continue to expand business procurement opportunities for small black businesses with corporations and government entities. Action Steps 1. The Chamber will identify corporations to partner and mentor small businesses. Accountability Measurement: Facilitate 20 mentorship/matching Verification: Number of mentorship agreements 2. The Chamber will provide information on certification and doing business with the government. Accountability Measurement: 6 certification workshops — Number of attendees Verification: Attendance log 3. The Chamber will host informative workshops/seminars for members and small black businesses on how to develop marketing tools that will assist them in increasing their sales. The workshops will be held quarterly. Accountability Measurement: 4 workshops — Number of attendees Verification: Attendance log Page 3 OBJECTIVE III: To keep the membership informed of available business opportunities and to assist the working poor with printed materials about job seminars, work related seminars and networking opportunities. Action Steps 1. The Chamber will publish monthly calendars creating awareness and events of opportunities.
