AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER
62/ARTICLE VI/SECTION 62-156 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "SCHEDULE OF FEES," BY CREATING A
NEW SUBSECTION 62-156(D) ENTITLED "MANNER OF FEE PAYMENT;"
ADDING A PROVISION THAT SETS FORTH THE REQUISITE MANNER OF
PAYMENT BY CERTIFIED CHECK, CASHIER'S CHECK, OR MONEY ORDER FOR
THE COLLECTION OF CERTAIN SPECIFIED FEES; CONTAINING A REPEALER
PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that in order to ensure proper collection of
certain fees in excess of $100, said fees must be paid in the form of Certified Check, Cashier's Check,
or Money Order; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, after careful consideration of this matter, deems it advisable and
in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami ("City") and its citizens to amend its Code
of Ordinances as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 62/Article VI/Section 62-156 of the City Code, entitled "Schedule of Fees," is
amended in the following particulars:{1}

All fees payable to the City of Miami c/o the Department of Planning or Office of Zoning,
or their successors, in excess of one hundred ($100) dollars including, but not limited to:
f1) Affordable Housing Trust Fund Fees; (2) Florida East Coast (FEC) Corridor
Improvement Fund Fees; (3) Development of Regional Impact Fees; (4) Maior Use
Special Permit (MUSP) Fees; (5) Class II Special Permit Fees; (6) Certificate of
Approval Fees; (7) Certificate of Appropriateness Fees; and (8) All other Zoning and
Planning fees provided for by law which are payable to the City of Miami shall be paid in
the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Money Order.

Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances that are inconsistent or in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance are repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is
declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final reading and adoption
thereof.{2}

{1} Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures

{2} This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within
ten days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the
effective date stated herein, whichever is later.
