Commission Meeting Date: 7/7/2005 District Impacted: Citywide Type: ❑ Resolution ® Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Ticket Surcharge Increase on Paid Admissions to Events Purpose of Item: To Amend Chapter 53, Article 1, Section 53.1(b) of the Code of the City of Miami entitled "Stadiums and Convention Centers", in general ticket surcharge to increase the rate of the surcharge payment on paid admissions at certain City of Miami facilities. Background Information: The existing ticket surcharge rates at certain City of Miami facilities have remained unchanged dating back to 1988. A study by the Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities has determined an increase of the curent rates would genenerate revenue to augment the Department's overall capital improvement budget for facility upkeep and improvements.
