Purpose of Item:
APPROVING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY") ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR
2005-2006, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, AND THE CITY'S ANALYSIS OF THE
IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR HOUSING CHOICE FOR FISCAL YEARS 2005-2010, ATTACHED
AND INCORPORATED;AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE CITY'S
ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006 AND THE CITY'S ANALYSIS OF
THE IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR HOUSING CHOICE FOR FISCAL YEARS 2005-2010 TO THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ("HUD") FOR
REVIEW AND APPROVAL.

City's Analysis of the Impediments to Fair Housing (2005- 2010)

Background Information:
• Pursuant to Resolution 04-0374 , adopted on June 10, 2004, the City Commission
approved the City of Miami's Consolidated Plan for fiscal years 2004-2009, and
the Annual Action Plan for fiscal year 2004-2005; and
• Per the Code of Federal Regulations 24 CFR 91.220, all entitlement jurisdictions
are required to submit an Annual Action Plan to U.S. HUD for the purpose of
carrying out its long term strategic plan; and
+ The Action Plan set -forth the overall goals and objectives of the Consolidated
Plan; and
• Per the Code of Federal Regulations 24 CFR 91.225, each jurisdiction is required
to submit a certification that it will affirmatively further fair housing by
conducting an analysis to identify impediments to fair housing choice within the
jurisdiction, taking appropriate actions to overcome the effects of the
impediments identified through the analysis, and maintaining records reflecting
the analysis and actions in this regard.
