HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.(I.us File Number: 05-00689 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY") ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED AND THE CITY'S ANALYSIS OF THE IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR HOUSING CHOICE FOR FISCAL YEARS 2005-2010, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE CITY'S ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006 AND THE CITY'S ANALYSIS OF THE IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR HOUSING CHOICE FOR FISCAL YEARS 2005-2010, TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0374, adopted June 10, 2004, the City Commission approved the City of Miami's ("City") Consolidated Plan for Fiscal Years 2004-2009 and the Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2004-2005; and WHEREAS, per the Code of Federal Regulations 24 CFR 91.220, all entitlement jurisdictions are required to submit an Annual Action Plan to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") for the purpose of carrying out its long term strategic plan; and WHEREAS, the Annual Action Plan set forth the overall goals and objectives of the City's Consolidated Plan; and WHEREAS, per the Code of Federal Regulations 24 CFR 91.225, each jurisdiction is required to submit a certification that it will affirmatively further fair housing by conducting an analysis to identify impediments to fair housing choice within the jurisdiction, taking appropriate actions to overcome the effects of the impediments identified through the analysis and maintaining records reflecting the analysis and actions in this regard; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City's Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, attached and incorporated, and the City's Analysis of the Impediments to Fair Housing Choice for fiscal years 2005-2010, attached and incorporated, are approved. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to submit the City's Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2005-2006 and the City's Analysis of the Impediments to Fair Housing Choice for Fiscal Years 2005-2010 to HUD for review and approval. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:' JORGE L CITY AT Footnotes: Y {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
